Hospitalists

Dr. Vijay Parthiban, MD, MBA
President & CEO
Dr. Parthiban is the cofounder and CEO of P&C Healthcare. He received his Medical Degree from Stanley Medical College and completed postgraduate training at Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center in 1997. Dr. Parthiban completed his fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at University of South Alabama and received his MBA with a focus in Medical Management from Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts. Dr. Parthiban was the Reginal Medical Director for Emcare from 2014-2016. Dr. Parthiban cofounded and is currently the CEO, along with Dr. Chitaia, of P&C Healthcare in 2016.

Dr. Nikoloz Chitaia, MD
President & CEO
Dr. Chitaia is the cofounder and CEO of P&C Healthcare. He graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University and AIETI Medical School. He did an Internal Medicine Residency at Emory University. After completing fellowship training in Endocrinology at the University of Florida, Dr. Chitaia practiced as an Endocrinologist in Puyallup, Washington. In 2009 he joined HCA Centerpoint Physicians Group as a consulting Endocrinologist and Hospitalist. Dr. Chitaia has provided telemedicine services since 2016. Dr Chitaia cofounded and is currently the CEO, along with Dr. Pathiban, P&C Healthcare in 2016.

Dr. Nebiyu Eshetu
Dr. Eshetu graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors of Science-BS, Biochemistry in 2008. After graduating medical school in 2013 from Aureus University School of Medicine, he completed is residency at MedStar Harbor Hospital in 2017. Dr. Eshetu has been with P&C Healthcare since August 2021.

Dr. Abul Ahsan
Dr. Abul Ahsan received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Dhaka. He received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1995 from Mymensingh Medical College, where he completed an internship in Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Ahsan completed his residency at Canton Medical Education Foundation and fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Ahsan has been working as a hospitalist since 2008.

Dr. Katherine Field
Dr. Katherine Field received her degree from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019 and completed her residency in 2022 at Research Family Medicine. She has been with P&C Healthcare since August 2022.

Dr. Kristie Baker
Dr. Kristie Baker graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1993. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1994 and joined P&C Healthcare in 2023. Dr. Baker has worked in primary care and as a hospitalist for 23 years. She enjoys working with patients in fast paced, acute care settings.

Dr. Long Bui
Dr. Long Bui graduated from Kansas City University Physicians and Surgeons in 2019 with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He was named 2023 Centerpoint Medical Center Physician of the Year, chosen by the nursing staff.

Dr. Mathew Akins
Dr. Akin has bachelor’s degrees in biology, German and music from the University of Missouri. He earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Priscilla Borden
Dr. Priscilla Borden graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Avila University. After earning her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Miami, Florida in 2016, she completed her residency in Family Medicine at Research Medical Center in Kansas City in 2019.

Dr. Salil Kulkarni
Dr. Salil Kulkarni graduated from Padmashre Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College in 2011. Dr. Kulkarni then completed a residency in Internal Medicine in 2017 at Bronx Care Health System.

Dr. Samer Abu-Amer
Dr. Samer Abu-Amer graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2019. He completed his residency in 2022 at Research Family Medicine and has been with P&C Healthcare since 2022.
Intensivists

Dr. Michael J Waxman, MD, MBA, FACP, FCCP, FCCM, MRCP
Dr. Waxman is a 1976 graduate of The University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Stephen Eikermann
Dr. Stephen Eikermann graduated from Kansas City University in 2013. In 2017 he completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Corpus Christi, TX. He then completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in 2019 at UMKC, Saint Luke’s-Plaza. Dr. Eikermann is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and began as the ICU medical director at Centerpoint Medical Center in July 2021. He is a Kansas City native, happily married husband and father of three children.
Nurse Practitioners

Andria Ortiz
Andria Ortiz, MSN, AGACNP-C, spent ten years as a critical care nurse at intensive care units throughout Missouri and Nebraska hospitals. She received her advanced practice degree from Rockhurst University School of Nursing in 2021 and became certified as an Adult and Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses in 2022.

Clara Murray
Clara Murray graduated from Washburn University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Northwestern College’s Physician Assistant Program in 2022. She joined P&C Healthcare after graduation in December 2022 as Hospitalist PA.

Heather Begemann
Heather Begemann is a board-certified nurse practitioner with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She attended the University of Missouri BSN program graduating in 2009 and the MSN program in 2012. Heather joined P&C Healthcare in 2018 where she serves as the lead hospitalist nurse practitioner. She currently is attending Duke University in the Endocrine Specialty program with anticipated graduation in December 2023.
